The Preventive Cardiology Clinic is a clinic within Cardiovascular Consultants, designed to help you identify and manage risk factors for heart disease. Once these risk factors are detected and treated, your risk for a first heart attack (primary prevention) or a second heart attack (secondary prevention) can be reduced by 30 to 50 percent or more. By controlling these risk factors, you will decrease your chance for future heart events such as angioplasty, heart attack, stroke and cardiovascular death. Additionally, the health care professionals in the PCC will calculate your 10-year risk for heart disease. Do you know what your 10-year risk for heart disease is?
